So You’re Going to a Real Estate Seminar?

So you want to make money from real estate investing? And now, you’re going to a real estate seminar. That’s good! Hopefully you encounter a good one. Because let’s accept it, not all seminars are the same. If you want that put more bluntly, not all seminars are good. Some will simply bore you to death while others are a giant sales pitching event disguised as a seminar. But assuming you indeed are lucky to be in a good, under a good speaker or set of speakers, there are things that you must keep in mind.

Condition your mind. The first thing you need to do when attending a real estate seminar is to condition your mind. Real estate investing is lucrative in today’s market and that the reason why a lot of gurus are holding these seminars across the country. You must keep in mind that it really is possible to make huge money in this industry even under current economic conditions. Condition your mind to think that if other people managed to make a living and a fortune from this sector, you too can and that seminar is there to help you do that.

Be informed. Make sure that you bring with you a tape recorder. If possible, capture the event in video. Ask the organizers if the video of the whole event is part of the package that you paid for. If not, ask them if you can record it on your own. But regardless of their response, be sure to sit down, listen, and take notes through the whole event. Discipline yourself so that your toilet habits fit the break time. If possible, go to the John even before the lecture starts.

Volunteer. Seasoned and successful real estate investors, when speaking before a crowd, simply love an enthusiastic audience. And when they ask for a volunteer, don’t be shy and raise your hand. Not only will this give you a chance to better understand the lecture, you’ll also be closer to your real estate investing heroes. Another thing, speakers often give incentives or gifts to volunteers. It could be a free 30-minute personal consultation, or something like it.

Ask questions. Another occasion when you should raise your hand is during the question and answer portion. You most likely paid for your entry into the real estate seminar so don’t be shy to ask questions. If you have clarifications, then point then out. It will be helpful if you list down questions while listening to the speaker’s presentation.
